Vivo U10 review

Yes, Vivo U10 has to work hard to compete with Xiaomi’s Redmi, Realme, Honor and Redmi Note devices. Coming at Rs. 8,990. The new Vivo U10 comes with three rear cameras, a 5000mAh battery, 18W fast charging support, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor.

Yes, this is what makes this phone a standout amongst others! So, is it worth buying or are these just some specifications to attract customers? Let’s check it out in the Vivo U10 review below.

Design and display

Vivo has not changed much when it comes to design and looks. It comes with the same look you got to see in new Vivo mobiles. The new Vivo U10 sits on the bulky side and is boxy.

The device is enormous, carrying a 6.35-inch display. The device comes in two colour variants; Electric Blue and Plain Black. You can get a great discount on electronic items online using cover it up coupons.

On the back, the device gets gradient finish, and there is a triple-camera setup plus a fingerprint sensor too. The front is blessed with waterdrop notch, but there is a thick chin below.

The power and volume buttons are on the tight while the SIM Tray is on the left. On the bottom, there is a Micro-USB port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a speaker grille too.

Coming to the display, this phone packs a 6.35-inch HD+ screen with a 720×1544 pixel resolution. It is an IPS panel that Vivo has used.

The large screen has hampered the sharpness a bit and the crispness loses too. Still, this is a decent display to watch your favourite shows on Netflix.

Under the hood, the new Vivo U10 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, which is a recent launching from Qualcomm. The device comes with three RAM/Storage variants: 3GB RAM with 32GB storage for Rs. 8,990, 3GB RAM with 64GB storage for Rs. 9,990, and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage for Rs. 10,990.

The device performs well, but Funtouch OS slows down the phone like distorted animations and taking time to unlock the phone. Yes, it is a skin problem but can’t help it. Gaming is fun on this device, and you can play games like PUBG Mobile on low quality with ease.

On AnTuTu, this device scored 138,817 and Geekbench 5’s single-core, and multi-core results were 317 and 1,422 respectively. – Average!

The device runs Android 9 Pie out of the box coupled with Funtouch OS 9.1.

Talking about the cameras, the Vivo U10 comes with a triple-camera setup on the back panel which includes a 13-megapixel primary camera, 8-megapixel wide-angle lens both with f/2.2 apertures. Also, there is a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a flash too.

While on the front, there is an 8-megapixel f/1.8 selfie camera. Looking at the price range, the photo quality seemed to be okay-ish with the right amount of details popping out of the images. The wide-angle camera produced good results too.

In the night sight, this phone will struggle badly where the details come out dull and image grainy. The same goes for the selfie cam where you get decent shots in the daytime while the pics were distorted in the night time.

Battery Life

Battery life on the new Vivo U10 is impressive. We get to see a high-capacity 5,000mAh battery in this phone which is great to let your device sail for a whole day. Use it for a bit of gaming, take some camera shots, an hour of Netflix, some web surfing, and answering some calls.

Still, we had 40-45 per cent of juice left. Quickly, you can get a day and a half from a single charge. On the HD video loop, the device stayed alive for 17 hours and 58 minutes. Vivo ships 18W charger in the box which charged this device up to 60 per cent in an hour. You can get detail of Off-Campus Jobs online from fresh hiring

Final Verdict

Vivo U10 is delivering some severe hardware at a very tight price range. Vivo has brought an impressive device in the market, and it is good for the spirit of competition.

On the other side, this phone is bulky, not too eye-pleasing, and the custom skin is a bit ripped off- aggressive and slow. Looking at the bright side, you get three rear cameras and 18W fast charging – worth noticing! The cameras are decent, and the same goes for the charger too.

It performs well when it comes to processing power and looks great also for a low-priced phone. You can buy something better if you want to buy a higher variant of this phone, else go for the lower ones.
